Thorough-bred-Stallion Festival by Carnival out of Leila by Melbourne out of Meeance by Fouchstone out of Guznee by Master Henry out of Banter. Cardinal by Sweetmeat out of Volatile by Buckthorn out of Jocose by Pantaloon. Festival was bred at Hooton Hall Cheshire, won the Great Eastern Handicap beating a large field in 1870. Festival has a combination of the stoutest and best blood in England and from his appearance is likely to make a very promising stallion for getting hunters and carriage-horses.
