We the undersigned Passengers on board the English steamer Propeller on the outward voyage from Hull to Gothenburg when we encountered one of the most terrific storms that has been experienced on the North sea by the oldest seaman on board continuing from Sunday evening the 9:th till Tacsaayv evening the II:th instant without intermission, through which though often perillously situated he bas conductet her successfully to her destination. We beg through the medium of your paper to publicy return our gratefull and heartfull thanks to Captain Elder, backed by the strenous exertions of his first and Second officer and able crew for their zealous and energatic conduct on this trving occasion and which certainly proves Captain Elder worthy of his previous high character as an active and carefull seaman. Gentl-man!y and obliging in disposition and allways anxious for the welfare of those entru-ted to his charge and deserving our warmest commendations and thanks for the praiseworthy manners in which he has completed his present arduous and dangerous voyage.
