A Select Association of Ladies and Gentlemen for The Practice of the English Language, under the Superintendence of Mr Apbeorge, will commence its meetings towards the end of November, or in the first week of December. The object of this Association is to provide a select and social fleld for the practice of English Conversation, and the discussion of English Topics, Corresponding, as much as possible, to a private evening reception. To provide against ineongruous elements, after the first formation of the Association every candidate will be elected by ballot. Lady Candidates will be elected by the Lady Members, only, Gentlemen Candidates will be elected by both Lady and Gentlemen Members, but separately, and must obtain a majority of votes from each party. For the due observance of etiquette a Married Lad;, conversant with English, will preside over the social arrangements, in addition to which the younger ladies may be attended by their mothers, or any other female friend. The Association will meet, in private apartments, two evenings in each week, from 8 to 8, or 6 to 9 oclock; members being free to come and go just when it may suit their own convenience, Separate evanings may be provided exclusively for Ladies should it be found desirable. All particulars may be obtained of the Superintendent; and Ladies and Gentlemen Wishing to join the Åssociation should make early application to him at his residence, 61 Regeringsgatan, between 40 and 42 in the forenoon.
