ÅA Select Association of Ladies and Genwtlomen for The Practice of the English Language, under the Superintendence of Mr ApGeorge, will commence its meetings towards tbe end of Novembers or in the first week of December. The: object of this Assoeiation is to provide a select and social field for the practice of English Conversation, and the discussion of English Topics, corresponding, as much as possible, to a private evening reception: To provide against incomngruous elements, after the first formation of the Association every candidate will be elected by ballot. Lady Candidates will be elected by the Lady Members, only, Gentlemen Candidates will be eleeted by both Lady and Gentlemen Members, but separately, and mäst obtain a majority of votes from each party. For the due observance of etiquette a Married Ladr, conversant witb English; will preside over the social ar rangements, in addition to which-the ysunger ladies mar be attended by their mothers, or any otber female friend. The Association will meet, in private apartments, two evenings in each week; from ö to 8, or 6 to 9 oclock; members being free to come and go just when it may suit their own convenience. Separate evonings may bö provided exclusively for. Ladies should it be found desirable.
