ÅA Select Association of Ladies and Geatlemen for The Practice of the English Language, under the Superintendence of Mr ApGeorge, will commenee its meetings towards the end of Norember, or in the first week of December. The object of this Association is to provide a setect and social field for the prae:ice of English Conversation, and the discussion of English Topics, corresponding, as much as psssible, to a private ovening recoption. To provide against incongruous e!ements after tho first formation of the Association erery candidate will ba elected by ballot. Lady Candidates will be elected by tbo Lady Members, only, Genilemen Candidates will be elected by both Lady and Gentlemen Members, but separately, and most obtain a majority of vötes from each party. For the due observance of etiquelte a Married Lady, conversant witb Enghsb, will preside over the social arrangements, in addition tv hich the ysunger ladies may be attended by their mothers, or any otber female friend, The Association will mect, in privåte apartment: two evenings in each neekfrom 5 to 8, or 6 to 9 Gclock; members being free to come ani go just v ben it måy suit their own convenience.
