FN ke eo . i Torth Clyde Navigation : SCOTLAND. The recent alterations in the British Navigation Laws render it desirable that forsign shippers and ship-ow-! ners should be acquainted with the facikties afforded te their trade by this navigation. This Canal is situated in the Central District of Svetland, it can be navigated by Sea-going vessels not-exceeding 68feet in length, 493,, feet in breadub ani 83, drought of water. The main line is 35 Miles long; it sconnects the East Coast withthe West Coast of Britain end gives themeans of a ready communication with Ireland. — A side Branch connects the main line wich the City of Glasgow whieh is 29 Miles from Grangemouth and f2 Miles from Bowling Bay. The Entrance from the Firth of:Forth is ät Grangemouth, and from the Clyde at Bowling Bay. At Grangemouth, ihe port for Glasgow from the East, there is a capacious Wet Dock, and at Bowling Bay a. Tidal Basin, with extomsive Quays aud accomodation for the largest Class of Merchants Ships, the depth ef Water st Spring FTides being about Twenty feet aud Neap Tides, Fifteen feet. Therö are also capacieus Basins :a: Grangemouwth and Glasgow fer the accomedation of the Tiniber Trade. The Canal is immediately connected with the Grent Coal and iron distriets ef Glasgow and the surreunding Counties. The Tolis and Dues are moderate, the bighestrate of Foll, except on Gun Powder, :being Tbree half pence pex fon per Milo — and of -harbourduss Three pence per Ton Register. — The Skeredues -or Whbarfage om Goods is one penny per Ton.
